You Cannot Change Without A Fallout

“People change for two main reasons: either their minds have been opened or their hearts have been broken”  ― Steven Aitchison

Oh that quote is so damn good.  Go back up and read that a few more times.  Let that sentence really sink in.

I’m going to focus more on the first part there, the open minded part.

Lets jump right in, shall we?

Perspective is everything.

Perspective is why two people can look at the same painting and see two different pictures. It is why you can look back on your younger self and see that person as a complete stranger to the you — that you know yourself to be today. Why one person can absolutely love a book or movie or restaurant, and another will give a one star review.

Our perspective of the world we see with our eyes, is how our brains interpret every single experience. Every moment, our mind is taking in information and processing it, then filing it under what we have come to believe to be true about the world that we see.

So when we experience something in our lives, that causes us to create a new belief —to open up our mind to a different way of seeing the world, we are then allotted the space within our head to change. To create a new meaning to life, to see a different picture, but most importantly to indulge in growth.

When we have our hearts broken, the changing is painful. It is forced. It was unwanted. But when we have our minds opened, change is exciting. It is a calling to become an improved version of who we are — or better yet who we believed that we were.

No one can break your heart unless your expectations of them were not met, and you cannot have your mind open unless you are willing to unlock it first.

We are creatures of habits, that it no surprise. It is also not breaking news that changing & creating new habits is incredibly hard.

What you need to understand is that you are totally and completely in control of your mind, and therefore your life.

Nothing is happening in your life right now that you are not allowing to occur.

So when I say that you cannot change without a fallout — what I mean by that is, you absolutely have to open up your mind to new perspectives about the same situations. You have to let go and free-fall into a new perspective about who you are, in order to become who you want to be.

You need to allow your brain to change how you view your reality. You need to let go of all that old shit you are carrying with you inside your head everywhere you go. Those bags are heavy my friend, set — them — down.

You do not have to wait until some catastrophic event happens in order to make drastic change in your life.

You just have to be completely fed the hell up with the way things are. You need to be so sickened with your habits, that you cannot go one more damn day living your routine. That is where the motivation to change comes from, that is what will cause you to open up your mind to a whole new world that is out there waiting for you to come get it!

So do something right now, that your future self will write down in a gratitude journal later. Your life is waiting for you to get the hell up and go live it. Stop dreaming about it, stop wishing things to be different, and start doing the fucking work.

You have the ability to change the course of your life, one decision at a time.

Start making choices like your life depends on it — right now — because your life is the sum of all your choices.
